Fall season means pumpkin and apple season and what is apple season without some sort of apple crisp. I have finally created a healthy and vegan friendly apple crisp to add to the list to bake this fall. This is the kind of recipe that makes an amazing dessert, but is also perfectly okay to for breakfast the next morning. There is no shortage of warm fall spices or crumble topping with this vegan apple crisp.
The recipe begins with some fuji apple because those are probably my favorite aside from honey crisp. If you prefer a tangy apple then you can absolutely use granny smith apples. The apples are then mixed with a classic cinnamon sugar coating before it is time to add the crumble topping. The topping begins with a combination of oats and oat flour to make the crumbly texture. To that I added some almond butter and coconut cream to make the crumble come together. The coconut cream makes the crumble a little light while the almond butter adds a little nuttiness. To sweeten the crisp I added some golden monk fruit sweetener or coconut sugar. Once the crumble comes together then all that is left to do is bake the delicious crisp.
This vegan apple crisp is just such a great treat warm or cold. I love serving it warm with some cold vanilla ice cream.  Is there anything better than a warm comforting dessert with some cold melty ice cream? This dessert is just such a lovely fall treat to make you, your family, and friends get into the fall spirit this time of year. If you love fall and you love apples then what are you waiting for!? Get to the kitchen and make this delicious treat so you can eat it all season long. And if your looking for any more amazing fall recipes, be sure to check out my pumpkin spice granola, which is filled with delicious warm spices just like this apple crisp.
