Healthy Take 5 Dates

I have made these Healthy Take 5 Dates multiple times since I got the idea. They are technically a Take 4 because I did not put the salty peanuts in the middle. These dates are just the perfect sweet treat, and are family and friends approved. I’m not going to lie, I was not the biggest dates fan until recently. I kept hearing that they have a caramel type flavor, but that is not what they tasted like to me.  Making these healthier candies made me absolutely love them! They are not overpowering with sweetness, and blend the sweet and salty just perfectly.

Bite of a healthy take 5 dates

A few things I love with these homeade Take 5 Dates is first how easy they are! No candy thermometer or sitting by the stove is required for this recipe. The next is that they are definitely healthier and lighter then traditional candy. Not saying I don’t love a candy bar every once in a while, but I do like the fact that I likely won’t crash from a sugar high with this treat. Finally, they have the perfect blend of sweet and salty.  Plus, I can NEVER pass up a chocolate peanut butter combination.

These Healthy Take 5 Dates start with some mejol dates. I stuffed the dates with plenty of peanut butter. Then I added a pretzel stick inside each date. To finish the candy off, just dip them in white chocolate or dark chocolate. For the dates in the photos, I dipped them in white chocolate and drizzled over dark chocolate. The salty peanut butter and pretzel in every bite combined with the sweet chocolate and caramel date is just a match made in heaven.

After I made these dates for the first time, I went to sleep dreaming about them. I love the soft texture with the crunch of the pretzel in the middle. I’m not going to lie, I went straight to the fridge to grab one first thing in the morning. Not sorry about that one bit. They fulfilled all my cravings, and I am already excited to make more! If you need a sweet treat around your house, then be sure to give these a try!  And for another date candy be sure to check out my Date Twix! Another one of my favs!
